Team Honda Talon Racing: 2020 Events

The rest of this year Team Honda Talon Racing will be dedicating their time to testing, engineering and designing the Talon 1000R. Honda hasn’t announced who their drivers are for the 2020 two-vehicle race season. However, they have released the events they plan to enter:

  • Best in the Desert Vegas to Reno

  • Mint 400

  • UTV World Championship

  • Ultra4 Racing King of the Hammers

  • SCORE International Baja 500

  • SCORE International Baja 1000

Team Honda will also offer to back Talon drivers at non-SCORE events that they promote in addition to their racing support.

We might even see the Honda Talon Racing Team in some more exotic places like Baja, but only time will tell for sure.

Honda designed the Talon to confront the off-road like never before. They combined reliability and performance to create the perfect UTV. With the I-4WD system and a dual clutch transmission, there is nothing to stop this side-by-side. Take advantage of the 2WD to 4WD shift on the fly, FOX Podium 2.5-inch shocks to fine tune your suspension, plus 13 inches of ground clearance to go where you have never gone before.

3 Things You Didn’t Know About the Honda Talon

Here are some of the amazing facts that we dug up about the Honda Talon 1000R that you may not have known.

  1. Now that the Talon 1000R is released we know that this baby will set you back about $21,000. With all the excitement and hype going on about the Talon, the consensus is that it’s worth it. These UTVs are pretty awesome, so if you want the best, you have to pay for it.

  2. Most components of the Talon, such as the frame and differentials, are built in the United States. Everything is then put together at the Honda assembly plant in Timmonsville, South Carolina. Other pieces including the suspension, electrical and body parts come from vendors based in the USA. Only the engine and transmission are shipped directly from Honda in Japan.

  3. Even though Honda has not talked about a production turbo for these beasts yet, the stock engine is turbo ready. The piston oil jets found inside the stock Talon engine are usually only used on a turbo-charged engine. This is what makes us think turbo-charging is coming in the future. The drivetrain currently handles more than the 104 horsepower it puts out.

You Can Also Make the Honda Talon Street Legal

Making things street legal is what we do. Just call us at 800-994-7513 or visit our UTV Conversions page by clicking the link.

From there, we’ll send you some documents to fill out. Then we’ll work with the DMV to ensure that all laws are followed in making your Honda Talon street legal to drive on public roads. You’ll get a license plate, title, and registration!

You will only need to install some street legal parts like blinkers and mirrors based on your state’s regulations. No hoops and no hidden clauses – just you, your street legal Honda Talon, and the open road.

Would you buy a Talon if you had $21K?
If you had $21,000 to blow on a UTV, would you spend it on a Talon or another side-by-side? Let us know what your thoughts are on the new Honda Talon 1000R.
