Assault Industries Polaris General vs. the 2019 NORRA 1000
There’s no question that the NORRA Mexican 1000 Rally is an adventure seeker’s dream come true. When someone has the ability and equipment to customize an off-road UTV for the occasion, it’s even more enjoyable. That’s why we are so excited what Assault Industries did with their Polaris General build for the 2019 NORRA Rally.
Polaris General Build from Assault Industries
Assault Industries wanted to challenge themselves and figured the NORRA 1000 offered the perfect platform for the adventure. They set forth an aggressive timeline and aimed to build a desert-geared race car out of a Polaris GENERAL 4. The goal was to be accomplished in just a few short months, and there were plenty of people that doubted their ability to complete the task.
You can see in the YouTube video the dedication, hard work and innovation that went into creating this beast. But who exactly is Assault Industries?
The company has been involved with off-road racing and motorsports for more than 30 years. They’ve manufactured within the off-road, aerospace, military, medical, motorcycle, bike and automotive industry during that time.
They work directly with OEMs such as Honda, Harley Davidson and Yamaha. The company itself is based out of Orange County, California and they pride themselves on quality, customer service plus on-time delivery for their customers.
What makes Assault Industries unique is their state-of-the-art facility that’s equipped explicitly for all-out CNC and sheet metal fabrication, 3D laser scanning, tube bending and welding, and all manner of reverse engineering. That’s what made it possible for them to create this beast in the first place.
What is NORRA?
NORRA stands for National Off-Road Racing Association. Back in 2010, the organization started the revival of the NORRA Mexican 1000 Rally. This five-day peninsula run starts in Ensenada and ends in San Jose Del Cabo, and grueling doesn’t begin to describe the route.
Don’t let the word “race” fool you; this is more of an off-road adventure and the home of many lively parties. Each special stage is linked together by transit sections. This newer version of the original was co-created by Mike Pearlman (the founder’s son) and is a one of a kind event.
Throughout the race, you will find many vintage vehicles and even some motorcycles. There’s also a nice selection of desert cars, buggies, bikes, UTVs and pre-runner trucks involved - and even more just hanging out.
Whatever you delight in, it’s possible to see it during this event. You won’t lack anything with every moment jam-packed with thrill and excitement.

So much to see…
